Lobo de Mar Mariscos is a tasty seafood restaurant with seven types of tostadas, ten different tacos, and shrimp burgers.
The tacos here are different than you’ll find at most restaurants in the area. There are the standard breaded shrimp and fish tacos, called tacos capeados because they’re breaded and deep-fried. But the menu gets interesting with deep-fried avocado wedges, barbacoa-style marlin, grilled hibiscus flowers, and carnitas-style tuna.
The tostadas include shrimp and fish ceviche, where the meat is cured (not technically cooked) naturally with lime juice. And aguachile, which is shrimp cured in the same way, plus chiles, onions, cilantro, and cucumber.
The costry is like an open-faced flour-tortilla quesadilla with mozzarella cheese, plus shrimp or marlin inside.
Lobo de Mar Mariscos used to be in Guadalajara before it opened at its current location in June 2018, a few doors south of Gossip’s at Javier Mina #36.
