Lonchería Tepalo

Caldo de pollo (chicken soup) with the added garnishes: cilantro, chopped cilantro chile, onion, and squeezed lime. Served with a side of tortillas made the same morning.

Chile con carne: pork with a non-spicy red sauce.

Tortas de camarón (dried shrimp cakes with sliced cactus and bathedin a mild chile sauce).

Chicken with mole pepian (spelled also as pipian, but in Jalisco and other parts it's pepian).

Caldo de albóndigas (meatball soup) with agua fresca de sandía (watermelon water).

Agua fresca de avena con fresa (water with ground oats and chopped fresh strawberries).

A licuado, which is like a smoothie made from milk and fruit.

Daily specials usually include a soup and one or two other plates, such as chicken with mole, chiles rellenos or beef with chile.

Roasted chickens are available to go every day after 12:00 noon.

<p>After more than a decade, Lonchería Tepalo went out of business in 2018 due to rising rent costs.</p>
